Secretary
Mr. Duje Ram Jyoti is the director and secretary of the NGO ‘Nishakt Jan Kalyan Sewa Samiti’, Pamgarh, distt. Janjgir-Champa, Chhattisgarh. He was born in a small village Kosir of Tehsil Pamgarh, Janjgir-Champa in 1969. He was born in a very poor family to father Late. Shri Sahettar Jyoti and mother Late. Smt. Bisahin Bai Jyoti. Parents of Mr. Duje Ram never attended school because of their poor social condition and hence relied on agriculture and farming and also worked as brick worker in other states for the sustenance of the family. The parents also took Mr. Duje, who is youngest among 3 of children, to the work, and travelled different states as per the requirement of their work in brick factories. Mr. Duje had strong interest in studying from a very young age, but because of the financial problem and regular emigration of the family from one state to other made it very challenging for Mr. Duje to study. But there is a saying, where there’s a will, there’s a way, hence apart from his impecunious situation, Mr. Jyoti had a strong will of studying and therefore he took help from relatives and friends and after a long term of hard work and determination, he continued studying and completed his schooling and then Graduation in Arts. He later completed his Masters Degree in Social Science after marriage. At the age of 25 he married Smt. Bhagwati Jyoti in court. They were classmates in school and knew each other since school days. Smt. Bhagwati is Physically disabled, and is a government employee working as Head Master in Government Middle School, Bhadra, Pamgarh. Both Mr. Duje and Smt. Bhagwati had affection and devotion towards disabled persons and always looked to serve them whenever needed. Carrying forward this devotion, they decided to establish a special institute for disabled children coming from poor background in Pamgarh, being the native place of the couple. Early years of the institute were very difficult and challenging, providing free education and accommodation along with special studying instruments to disabled students was difficult without Government support. Then also with help of donations and self-contribution they carried the work of serving the disabled children. The institute has accomplished its major objective of educating and empowering the disabled but still there is lack of fund, and financial problem persists. We look forward for your help and Donations.
